Yeah, I think they are somewhat different. I tried the edac file that you suggested, but it didn't have a noticeable effect. I am getting the log messages ending in "x38 UE" that Tobatus gave above, rather than ones like yours, so I tried "alias x38_edac off", but that also had no effect.
