Public bug reported:

There are two buffers in X.org — the Primary Buffer and the Clipboard
Buffer, as described here: http://www.jwz.org/doc/x-cut-and-paste.html

But lots of programs, like x-chat or azureus, or any other (all are GTK-
based, so I think, it is a GTK "feature") or even gnome-run dialog push
a text into primary buffer even whet it's auto selected, like
autocompletion in gnome-run or autoselect fo the servers in x-chat's
server list.

Such behavior makes primary buffer unuseable, because autoselected text
usually doesn't make sense, but corrupt primary buffer. The proper
behavior, for my mind, is to push the text into primary buffer only with
the user input like mouse selection.

     Importance: Undecided
