Please stick to either OOo 2.4.1 on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy or upgrade to
Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty for OOo 3.0.1. The packages in the ppa are primarily
for testing purposes and not all bugs can be corrected in it. The reason
that network files can't be opened in the Hardy version of 3.0.1 is
because OOo has been switched to using gvfs fuse in Ubuntu due to other
bugs and Hardy does not support gvfs fuse properly to be able to do so.
