Work around to change the primary monitor: 1) Using nvidia-setting (Menu "System":Line "Admintration": Click on "NVIDIA X server settings") disable the current primary monitor leaving the other screen enabled under "X Server Display Configuration". You may have to run from terminal "sudo /usr/bin/nvidia-settings"
2) Save xorg.conf, Quit. 3) Restart the X Server (Log out/log in or restart) 4) Using nvidia-setting (enu "System":Line "Admintration": Click on "NVIDIA X server settings") enable the disabled monitor under "X Server Display Configuration".
