Public bug reported:

I've upgraded a older server from feisty to hardy and had to kill a lot
of packages to get do-release-upgrade to finally work. I finally got it
to stop spitting out dpkg errors and finish the upgrade. Now I'm re-
installing packages that I dumped to get the upgrade to work. First
things first I installed vim `apt-get install vim` and now vim is
installed but the vim command is not provided. What's going on and what
do I need to do to get /usr/bin/vim?

** Affects: vim (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
