Till, thanks for the hint! The generic "PCL6/PCL XL Printer" with "pxlmono" 
works perfectly, better than hpjis: The page margins are fine, no shifting to 
the top, printing is fast. 
I just wonder why the generic ppd produces better results than the HP specific 
one... 

Maybe the generic version should be set as default in Ubuntu, instead of
hpjis?
