Please boot the live CD again on this machine and do: sudo apt-get libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg libgl1-mesa-glx-dbg libgl1-mesa-swx11-dbg After that, run: gdb glxgears Finally, when the crash happens, please type "bt full" inside gdb and paste the results here. Once we have that we can file an upstream bug report on this issue.
