I can confirm this issue (Xorg fglrx leaks like a sieve).
I've upgraded my work machine to the latest Ubuntu 9.04. Now Xorg fills
up my RAM and swap in less than 12 hours and I have to restart X to
clear it up.
Xorg memory usage from 'top':
Virtual 3,358m Resident 654M.
Xorg driver: fglrx
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU ("64-bit")
RAM: 2GB
Device: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV610 video
device [Radeon HD 2400 PRO]
Daily apps: Evolution, Eclipse, Terminal and Firefox.
