BTW: as usual, don't get me wrong. E.g. okular is a good tool because it allows for pdf annotations. In a scientific environment this is useful for reviewing papers and I don't have doubts that people will like it a lot. It is the specific use case of frequent document recompiling that makes it the wrong tool in the jaunty (and possibly karmic) time window.
