Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since
this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work,
I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here.

I can confirm this issue, but am not sure if it should be reported
against aumix or pulse audio. Removing/disabling pulse audio corrects
the issue in Xubuntu, which is okay since pulse audio is not installed
by default. Normally this is only an issue if adding xubuntu-desktop to
Ubuntu.
