all i did was click format > cells on some formulas which used pi().
thanks heaps
i ran it in a terminal to get some output.

I tried
sudo apt-get install libglade, thinking that something might be missing because
i upgraded from 8.04 to 8.1.
I'll try reinstalling gnumeric.
