I installed some updates about an hour ago, and I just logged out and back in and now all of a sudden the Workspace switcher is working like normal again. I checked the version numbers of the compiz and gnome- panel package, and they don't see to be different. I honestly don't recall what the updates were. I will leave the bug open for another week or so, or I until I can confirm what update resolved the problem.
