I have seen the same behavior (I haven't checked CPU usage). About Firefox shows: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042523 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Firefox/3.0.10 My computer specs are: Grafik: NVIDIA® GeForce® 8100, max. 512 MB shared Memory, VGA, DVI, DirectX® 10 Mainboard: Biostar GF8100 M2+ TE, Sockel AM2+, GeForce 8100 Chipset, 1× ATA - UDMA 133, 4× SATA II, 4× USB 2.0 + 2× Front-USB, 1× PCIe X16 (v2.0), 2× PCI, 2× PS/2, 6-Kanal HD Audio
After a freeze I found the following at the end of the /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old (II) NVIDIA(0): Initialized GPU GART. (this repeated 15 times in total) (II) NVIDIA(0): Initialized GPU GART. (EE) NVIDIA(0): Error recovery failed. (EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting *** After a normal shutdown of Firefox with a single tab open there are no messages "Initialized GPU GART." The behavior is quite repeatable, and it freezes every time I shut down multiple tabs. The number of " Initialized GPU GART." messages seems to vary. I can not use ctrl-alt-del to reboot, but the past 3 or 4 times I used ctrl-alt +R,E,I,S,U,B and had a successful restart without powering off. -- Jaunty beta freezes when we try to close firefox browser that has more than one tab open. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/357718 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
