What happens if you use a new Thunderbird profile and add lightning to it as needed, Just set up one email at this time. I'm not sure if this is lightning causing this just removing it does not mean it is lightning. The changes made to 0.9 from 0.8 are not really all that much. I upgraded fine with lightning and sunbird installed. However this means i have to write up a debug instructions for thunderbird lightning sunbird and a few others. Can you try the above and when i get time in the next month or so i will write it up. Ths main this we need is the debug packages needed for the above packages. for now try the above and let us know what happens
