Actually the policy is that absolutely no features are
updated/backported to past releases, only security fixes are backported.
Xubuntu is not officially supported by Canonical so this kind of bug
could not normally be escalated to be fixed during this release's
support lifecycle.
Are you still using Dapper ? Can you confirm that this is still a
problem ?
If you have upgraded from Dapper to Edgy, can you also report back if
it's still a problem ?
