Interesting problem. I can confirm that I see the "disorder codes" (what should be Chinese characters, I assume, are interpreted as a different encoding and displayed as "garbage" characters) in evince as well.
However, when I install the "acroread" package, this same PDF is still unreadable with the Adobe reader. So it is not clear if this problem is specific to "evince" (or other PDF readers), or if the .pdf file has not been created properly. Does this same .pdf file work in a different PDF viewer? If so, which one? The "pdfinfo" command-line utility also displays garbage characters. -- There are disorder codes. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374500 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
