Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin

When entering a Status message in Japanese via SCIM the status message
box does not detect that I am typing and closes before I can type my
message.

Please extend the timeout length by at least a factor of two, or hook
into SCIM to see if the user is still typing (or searching a list of
about 100 kanji to select).

ありがとう。
