https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video- ati/+bug/363238 I was using fglrx in 8.10 with xserver 1.5, but ATI dropped support for my card (radeon 9600) from their xserver 1.6 compatible fglrx drivers, so after the upgrade I was using the "radeon" open source driver, which displayed a delay in maximize/minimize operations.
