I am marking this as a duplicate of bug #364538 as both are caused by
the same problem. One (manual) work-around for me was to "modprobe usb-
storage" on the initrd shell when the boot fails. But this should not be
needed anymore with the latest kernel. I hopefully gets to updates soon.
