Impact: display glitches or misrenderings while using apps under UNR.
Fix in development branch was to trigger a metacity resize of the window after
the maximize event.
Attaching the patch which was merged upstream.
Regression potential: can't really think of anything, perhaps more redraws?

** Description changed:

- maximus 0.4.0~ppa3 on intrepid fails to properly maximise synaptic. See
- screenshot.
+ When removing window decorations, metacity doesn't resize the window and
+ causes a white space below some windows when they first appear under
+ UNR. Maximus hides this issue partially.

- It occurs to me that the space left at the bottom is just the right size
- for the missing bottom panel. Could be taking the size a window should
- be maximised to from the user settings of the user it's run as?
-
- The problem corrects itself if you go-home to the launcher screen and
- then alt-tab back to synaptic, but apparently not if you just interact
- with it inside its own window or if you alt-tab to another normally
- windowed (including maximised) application. (It can look fixed, until
- you realise you're looking at Firefox's status bar, instead of
- synaptic's, for instance.)
-
- NB: This is in contrast to pidgin, when the same problem occurs when a
- pidgen chat window is maximised, but then corrects itself when changing
- from one channel tab to another.
-
- It does not seem to affect other applications that run as root (eg:
- startup manager, partition manager...)
+ TEST CASE: run synaptic from a jaunty UNR install, notice that while the
+ package cache is scanned, there's a blank space below the window.
