Public bug reported:
In X01-localapps:
> # Mount the home directory
> sshfs -o allow_other,ControlPath=${LDM_SOCKET} ${LDM_SERVER}:${LDM_HOME}
> ${LDM_HOME}
would it be possible to add "-o follow_symlinks" to the sshfs params?
This would make the following scenarios possible:
* Letting the user transparently use his own symlinked dirs that point outside
of his home dir.
* Having (read only) shared directories with localapps - e.g. a directory with
some videos or exercises for the students etc.
* Using .wine/dosdevices/z: if wine is installed as a localapp
* Using some predefined symlinked dirs like ~/Examples etc
Is there any (security? performance?) reason not to follow symlinks?
The user is logged on the server, so AFAIK he can already see the symlinked
files through apps running on the server...
Kind regards,
Alkis
