Public bug reported:
After updating to Xubuntu 9.04 from Xubuntu 8.10, I can't print anymore
with my Samsung ML-2010.
The most relevant piece of information I found, related to the error I
get, was in /var/log/cups/error_log:
[Job 114] SpliX Cannot get paper size information. Operation aborted.
[Job 114] SpliX Request: cannot load printer information
Saving subscriptions.conf...
PID 7305 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertoqpdl) stopped with status 2!
This happens when I try to print documents from Abiword, spreadsheets
from OpenOffice.org and so on (I haven't tried to print all possible
files from all possible programs, but I suspect the behavior would be
the same).
I tried removing the printer from the system and adding it again: I plug
out the USB cable, remove the printer from the System->Printing menu, I
plug in the cable again and it is automatically configured. Then I try
printing a test page and it prints fine. Then I try to print a page from
any other program and I get an error (unspecified), and if I look at the
printing queue, I see that the printing of the file has been
suspended/interrupted.
