Thanks for reporting this issue. This may seem highly ridiculous, but
what video driver do you have? Looking through reports, bug 331952
concerns the B43 driver doing as you described, with Openchrome video
drivers. Perhaps this is a duplicate, or there is another video driver
causing issues.
