Yes, a --no-action, --dry-run or similar would definitely be nice.
@Andrew: Currently there is a Savannah support ticket about this. Do you
mind if I also make it a "Feature request: ..." bug report? If nothing
else, it is something which is easier to link towards Launchpad.
