I have the same problem, the ALARMs are the last thing in syslog before system crash (I have system crashes every now and then, and I try to find the reason). Ubuntu 9.04, lm-sensors 3.0.2-2ubuntu4 There was no crashes in older versions of Ubuntu, so I didn't check the logs before.
