>By the way: What means Changed in gtk: status: Unknown → Fix Released ?? As I understand it, it means that Gnome have now included a patch in their development version to be able to ask a username and password.
So Gnome will (the day your version of Ubuntu will include this new patch) ask a username and password when AuthInfoRequired username, password will be in /etc/cups/printers.conf. Since that bug suggest that it does not really need a password (since it is able to print without giving one), I doubt it will help much. I note that GNOME have used the following CUPS documentation to write their patch : http://www.cups.org/doc-1.4/api-cups.html#PASSWORDS_AND_AUTHENTICATION -- cups says "can't promp for authorization" when printing to my samba printer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283811 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
