I have this issue with an HP deskjet 5652 printer. It's discovered twice. $ lpinfo -v network socket network beh direct hal:///org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_1d6b_1_0000_00_1d_0_if0_0_printer_HU3981Y15S97 direct usb://hp/deskjet%205600?serial=HU3981Y15S97 direct hp:/usb/deskjet_5600?serial=HU3981Y15S97 direct hpfax network http network ipp network lpd direct parallel:/dev/lp0 direct scsi serial serial:/dev/ttyS0?baud=115200 network smb
$ lpstat -v device for deskjet-5600: hp:/usb/deskjet_5600?serial=HU3981Y15S97 device for deskjet-56002: hal:///org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_1d6b_1_0000_00_1d_0_if0_0_printer_HU3981Y15S97 /var/log/syslog is attached. I deleted both entries in system-config- printer at 13:09 while the printer was on. Turning it off at 13:12 provoked first discovery. Turned on and off again at 13:16. ** Attachment added: "syslog" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26850512/syslog -- cups autoinstalls printer repeatedly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/371261 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
