I manually removed cups-pdf and performed an update to 8.10, from that I went straight on to 9.04, which runs quite well now.
After that I reinstalled cups-pdf, so things are okay again. During the update I experienced the problem described in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/274290, but was able to recovery because I started the update via console (in text mode) - 9.04 installed the correct driver and X is up'n'running. Don't know if this bug needs further tracking since the original system isn't there anymore - therefore I leave it as it is. -- package update-manager 1:0.87.31 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: SystemError in cache.commit(): E:Couldn't configure pre-depend cups for cups-pdf, probably a dependency cycle. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377266 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
