Thanks for Blacklisting advice. Worked for me! I used the official release of Jaunty on my Acer Aspire One having spent 3 days realising linpus is too toy-like (even if it is refreshingly stable).
I now have a system that looks and behaves like a 'proper' computer... just need the hot-swapping SD card glitch fixing.
