Okay, the problem was actually with the flash plugins from the
repository and on my machine, which x86_64, I had to use the 64 bit
flash plugin released by adobe.

Solution:
1) Uninstall nspluginwrapper from Synaptics Package Manager ( This will remove 
flashplugins along with it).
2) Download 64 bit plugin for linux 
(http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer10/libflashplayer-10.0.22.87.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz
 ) and place it under your .mozilla/plugins directory.

It works now.
