Ok, to reproduce (I'm assuming the NFS bit is irrelevant here)
Also, I've not actually tried this sequence yet
- install kubuntu 6.06 and updates on a P4 with an Intel MB and built-in
graphics (i810 driver, see hardware below)
- install firefox 2.0.1 and thunderbird 1.5.0.9 from mozilla.org (my location
is /app/linux/{firefox,thunderbird} respectively
- run both (or either) for a while/few days and watch the memory being used up
more and more (I'm using xosview, top, xrestop).
