running ubuntu karmic alpha1 wit latest updates (May 21) on netbook Acer
Aspire One 110L.
The sound is overlaid with some tingly static, like on the radio during
a distant thunderstorm. This static is present irrespective of sound
source (mpeg video, mythtv streamed TV) but absent in quiet periods, be
they because of a quiet segment in the movie or because of a paused
replay.
Sound is proper on the same machine and identical sound sources when
intrepid or jaunty is run.
