The problem with rtl8180 and ndiswrapper using wep is in /etc/network/interfaces. If you use the windows driver you need to set your key before the essid, and you need to specify what kinda authentication you have In my interfaces file I need to set wireless open key ******* wireless essid ****** Instead of wireles essid ****** wireless key *****
