Second: delete (if it is there!) your hidden folder .openoffice in your home-directory Third: "sudo apt-get autoremove" in a terminal Fourth: Add the repos to your sources.list, then "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" Fifth: Install the OOo packages from Synaptic It should work now. If you take all I wrote in combination OOo worked in generic and rt -kernel, respectively.
