** Summary changed: - Gnome in Jaunty remaks keyboard keys + Gnome in Jaunty remaps keyboard keys
** Description changed: When I launch gnome from a tightvncserver session (which is the default when you launch vncserver on Ubuntu, or if I log in to a gnome session via gdm with a -query localhost), once gnome has started, any key I press on the client is re-mapped to a completely different key. This only happens if I'm using tightvncserver. xvnc4server does not suffer from this. I also have no problems starting other desktop environments (like xface, for example.) + + Update: after following up some other problems, I find that there are + severe problems with gnome-settings-daemon running in a vnc sessions. + The problems appear to be with the gnome-settings, and can be worked + around by disabling the keyboard plugin with gconf-editor. -- Gnome in Jaunty remaps keyboard keys https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379542 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
