hi This is the problem. i had been reading about UBUNTU and, feeling bored one day downloaded XUBUNTU and installed it on an old desk top pc which i was going to strip down for spares, better to give it a try on this, rather than screw up my new pc. I plugged in my BELKIN network adaptor and i was amazed to see that it was detected and connected to the internet instantly. Great! I played around with this version for a day or two and found that this was lacking in some features, compared with Jaunty jackalope. I installed jaunty over Xubuntu, and to my dismay found that it could not detect my belkin adaptor. strange?? I checked out some forums and found out about wifi radar. this application is supposed to detect wireless adaptors. unfortunately the program will not run on this version due to a bug. I am new to Linux based operating systems, so to start making changes to software is alien to me. I thing the simplest solution will be to re install XUBUNTU. Sorry i cant be of more help,
