Public bug reported: I have just installed Ubuntu 9.04 on a PC which already has Windows Vista, in duel boot configuration. I am also new to Linux.
The audio works fine in Windows, but in Ubuntu I am unable to hear any sound. I have set all the sliders in the volume control (HDA NVidia Alsa Mixer?) to maximum, but this has had no effect. I have tried the test options in System > Preferences > Sound, but still hear nothing. I ran a bash script that i found on one help page, the output is here: http://www.alsa- project.org/db/?f=bf9c5615e90c8a02ff3008ac9324898d2b40df6d I would appreciate any help that can be provided. Thank you kindly for your time, Tony Ps. While i have the attachments required in the minimum information notes, I am unsure how to add all the attachments to this report?
