I think I have found the solution. It seems that installing libsdl1 .2debian-pulseaudio (which uninstalls libsdl1.2debian-alsa) solves the problem on my end. If this also solves the problem on your ends, maybe this package should be considered an automatically installed dependency when using pulseaudio?
