Hi Jörn,
would be helpful if you could report the concret hardware which is
causing you trouble. Eventough I think it is very unlikly there are
going to be feature backports or even kernel upgrades for Dapper this
policy (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SupportedHardware) tells to
report not supported hw as a bug - so just do it (I'm very interested in
the outcome of this ;).
