Public bug reported:
Currently, the clickable area of an icon consists of the image and the
text below it. When the text is long, the areas above the text and to
the right and left of the image are not part of the clickable area,
which can make selecting the icon more difficult than it should be.
I propose that an icon's clickable area be a rectangle that surrounds
the image and the text. This would make selecting the icon much easier.
I am using Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit with Nautilus 2.26.2. This problem occurs
on the desktop and in the file browser.
See the picture showing how close the cursor can get to an icon without
being able to select it, as well as the poorly done mockup.
