Thanks for reporting this helping to make Ubuntu better. I'm not quite
sure, what you tried to do and can't reproduce the problem.
If I start a new profile, I'm asked what I want to do - create mail
account. Then I have to enter my name and my mailadress. the next tab
asks me for the server adress and there i can switch between POP and
IMAP.
Can you please specify, how you get to the part where your problem is?
