Same here. Confirming this issue. I can read CD & DVD but I can't write.
Comment #38 removing the wodim fork and restoring cdrtools didn't worked for me. Using Ubuntu 8.04.2 desktop 32bits. DVD writer ASUS DRW-2014S1T internal Tried changing DVD writer jumper to Slave, Master or Cable but without result. K3b says "No CD/DVD writer found."
