I'm experiencing a similar issue. When running rdesktop with Jaunty+compiz+gnome. While RDP'd to one or multiple MS boxes my desktop will suddenly lock up. Except for the mouse. I usually launch my RDP sessions from gnome-rdp, but I tried from the terminal to see if any obvious errors would appear and there was nothing.
I've also disabled compiz and experienced the same lockups. After that experiment I would point the finger to the rdesktop build. If there is more information I can gather, please let me know. I'd like to a resolution to this issue asap as I work from home alot while on- call for after hours support and this can be very intrusive on my work.
