I don't know if this helps, because I don't understand it. After I upgraded the Ubuntu version, the wireless didn't work. I tried a bunch of stuff and nothing helped. Then I plugged it into a ethernet cable. The wired link worked fine. I then powered down and when I next powered up, wireless was working again. This has happened each time, after 2 upgrades.
