Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firestarter
I had search in the forums and search engines for a way to load
firestarter at boot without asking for admin password. I edited the
/etc/sudoers file using visudo on a terminal with this line at the end
of the file:
myusername ALL= NOPASSWD: /usr/sbin/firestarter
I tried to run firestarter from a terminal using "sudo firestarter", and
gets me this:
Xlib: connection to “:0.0″ refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
(firestarter:5803): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
Using gksudo gives me the same answer, though the number after
"firestarter:" change at random.
Writting just firestarter in the terminal, without the sudo or gksudo,
pops up a window telling I must have administrative privileges.
Also, I want to know if it's possible to make firestarter run in the
background at boot for all users of my pc, even if they’re not in the
admin group.
I'm using ubuntu edgy and firestarter 1.0.3-1.2ubuntu3 installed from
the repositories with sudo aptitude install firestarter
