Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

Various plugins tend to crash firefox (Adobe Flash, Totem Movie, ...). On the
one side this seems to be bad programming in the plugins - but on the other
hand I don't think firefox should crash (become unresponsive) just because a
third party software component messes up.
IMHO it would for example be much more appropriate to execute the plugins in
their own process and have to do interprocess communication. The overhead
should not be as important as a stable webbrower.

** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
