When using disper or nvidia-settings to extend display from the laptop
- display to dual displays on a T61p gnome-panel crashes but is still

usable, I.e. I can click on the correct gnome-panel areas and I can get
functionality but cannot see the desktop switcher update or rollover
effects work. Desktop switcher turns from 4x1 to 2x2.
