Sorry but I have to tell that the option UseEvents has no effect on the issue of freezing tv randomly.
A little summery to easy the next steps: 1.) Disabling the "Use Opengl vsync" option has no effect. 2.) Setting the tv playback profile to cpu-- has no effect. 3.) Setting the UseEvents option in xorg to true has no effect.
