Connected all similar bugs. Symptoms: System hangs completely after inserting cd/dvd disc (instantly or after few seconds, only a hard reset helps then).
Present in an up-to-date 9.04, problem existed since a few releases and still occur. A drive can be used safely in Windows. In my case, command: sudo killall hald-addon-storage cause the hang not to occur, but the disc isn't recognized at all then. So it may be a kernel or hal issue. There is nothing new in dmesg or other logs when the hang happens.
