Hi again!

Update. Now the thing works! See output of pabrowse below.

I started using Network Manager (Gnome) again. Before I bypassed Network
Manager, using /etc/network/interfaces, because I'm affected by this annoying
problem:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291760
On the fresh install I didn't bother to bypass Network Manager.

I just ran dpkg-reconfigure on network-manager, network-manager-gnome
and network-manager-pptp. Could this be the explanation? Is pabrowse
integrated with Network Manager somehow or is this coincidence? If this
is the problem, then I find it a bit curious that it worked the other
way around, for padevchooser on zanshin to find the sinks on Kexlerus,
because the network connection on Zanshin (to Kexlerus) is a normal wlan
card run in master mode. See below. On the other hand, Zanshin runs
Hardy and thus an older version of pulseaudio+tools.

Thanks in any case!
Mikael
